Egypt Unit Study Guide

Ancient Egypt Unit Study Guide
The Ancient Egypt Unit Test will be given Monday December 15th and will cover information learned in Chapter 4 Lessons 1-4. Use the following information to help guide your preparation for the test.

  • ·        Review vocabulary terms from Lessons 1-4
  • ·        Review your graphic organizer notes for Lessons 1-4 in your packet
  • ·        Map skills-you will have to identify geographic features of Ancient Egypt
  • ·        Be able to explain which government system best describes Ancient Egypt.
  • ·        Explain how geographic features helped develop the unique civilization of Egypt.
  • ·        Describe the purpose or uses of Egyptian achievements such as the pyramids, papyrus, hieroglyphs, etc…
  • ·        Risks ancient Egyptian traders faced with long distance trade
  • ·        Review information about the afterlife and mummification
  • ·        Know changes that the New Kingdom brought for Ancient Egypt
  • ·        Identify agricultural techniques that Egyptians used pending on where they lived and how it had an influence on economy.
  • ·        Be able to identify jobs for each Social Class of Ancient Egypt(Upper, Middle, Lower)

STUDY GUIDE FOR MESOPOTAMIA UNIT ASSESSMENT

You will be taking the final assessment for the Mesopotamia Unit on Wednesday November 5, 2014. Use the following study guide to help you prepare for the assessment.

Mesopotamia Final Assessment Study Guide:

Ancient China Study Guide

The Unit Test will be on Friday May 23rd.  Use the following information to help guide your studying.


Study Guide for Ancient China Assessment

Be familiar with the Vocabulary words and Emperors discussed/read about in Lessons 1-4

Know achievements or technology that spread into Europe

How did isolation effect China’s civilization

Be able to identify the natural features of the regions of China discussed in Lesson 1 notes

Know what the Mandate of Heaven is

Be able to identify the ideas of Confucius

What was the purpose of the Great Wall?

Describe how dynasties helped contribute to the development of China (Han, Zhou, Qin)

Identify and describe factors that caused the movement of people, products, and ideas throughout China and the Eastern Hemisphere. (Political, Social, Economic, Environmental)

You will be asked to identify quotes from the H.E.L.P. perspective, read a map, and answers questions using a flow chart.  Make sure you brush up on these skills.

Ancient Egypt Study Guide

·       Your final Egypt Assessment will be on Thursday, January 23rd. It will include all four lessons from Chapter four; The Nile Valley, The Old Kingdom, The Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom.. The test will consist of multiple choice, map skills, short and extended response questions, fill in the blank and True and False statements. the following, which were the key learning goals for our study of Ancient Egypt:

 

·       Be sure to review the learning goals that are typed on the front of your packet as all the questions relate to these.

·       Review Vocabulary terms from Lessons 1-4

·       Review Graphic organizer notes from Lessons 1-4

·       Geographic features of Egypt and how they contributed to developing the unique civilization of ancient Egypt

·       Achievements (Hieroglyphs, pyramids, art, architecture, the afterlife, mummification)

·       Government of Ancient Egypt-determine what type and be able to support your choice.
