We will have our unit test on Wednesday 2/26/14.  Use the following information to help guide  studying for the test.

Know vocabulary terms from Ch. 6 lesson 1 and 2 and Ch. 7 Lesson 1

Know people (Ancient Hebrews) that were influential in the history of Judaism

Be prepared to explain how traditions of the Ancient Hebrews have diffused into the modern world.

Be prepared to explain political, social, or economic factors that cause the movement of people, products, and ideas to move from place to place (past or present) connected to Judaism or Ancient Hebrews and the lasting impact on the Jewish people today.

Ancient Egypt Study Guide

·       Your final Egypt Assessment will be on Thursday, January 23rd. It will include all four lessons from Chapter four; The Nile Valley, The Old Kingdom, The Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom.. The test will consist of multiple choice, map skills, short and extended response questions, fill in the blank and True and False statements. the following, which were the key learning goals for our study of Ancient Egypt:

 

·       Be sure to review the learning goals that are typed on the front of your packet as all the questions relate to these.

·       Review Vocabulary terms from Lessons 1-4

·       Review Graphic organizer notes from Lessons 1-4

·       Geographic features of Egypt and how they contributed to developing the unique civilization of ancient Egypt

·       Achievements (Hieroglyphs, pyramids, art, architecture, the afterlife, mummification)

·       Government of Ancient Egypt-determine what type and be able to support your choice.

·       Social Class structure and jobs

·       Farming techniques used and how they connect to the economic structure of Ancient Egypt.

 

Newscaster Information

Any 6th grader who would like to become a newscaster for morning announcements for the second semester must complete & submit this NEWSCASTER’S APPLICATION by Tuesday, December 17th. You will be expected to spend two advisory periods per week on the announcements. Other expectations: work well with others, maintain good grades, and demonstrate responsibility. Well written paragraphs describing why you should be chosen are highly encouraged.
