Use the following information to help guide your studying for the Unit Test. The Unit Test will be given on Monday September 29th.

·       Vocabulary terms from Chapter 2; Lesson 1 and Lesson 2

 

• Compare and Contrast Benefits of Hunting and Gathering Societies vs. Agricultural Communities

   

·        Latitude/Longitude Skills-Map skills

·        Understand the 5 Themes of Geography-Location, Place, Human-Environment Interaction, Movement, Region

·        Timeline Skills

·        Know examples of how Geospatial Technology benefits people, places, or environments

Ancient China Study Guide

The Unit Test will be on Friday May 23rd.  Use the following information to help guide your studying.

Study Guide for Ancient China Assessment

Be familiar with the Vocabulary words and Emperors discussed/read about in Lessons 1-4

Know achievements or technology that spread into Europe

How did isolation effect China’s civilization

Be able to identify the natural features of the regions of China discussed in Lesson 1 notes

Know what the Mandate of Heaven is

Be able to identify the ideas of Confucius

What was the purpose of the Great Wall?

Describe how dynasties helped contribute to the development of China (Han, Zhou, Qin)

Identify and describe factors that caused the movement of people, products, and ideas throughout China and the Eastern Hemisphere. (Political, Social, Economic, Environmental)

You will be asked to identify quotes from the H.E.L.P. perspective, read a map, and answers questions using a flow chart.  Make sure you brush up on these skills.

Ancient India Test Study Guide

Study Guide for Ancient India Unit Test

·       Be familiar with the Learning scales in the beginning of your packet

·       Physical features of India and what makes it a subcontinent.

·       Key people and vocabulary terms

·       Achievements and how they spread across other parts of the world

·       Understand the Roles of the HELP perspective and identifying text for each perspective

·       Describe how Mohandas Gandhi was a responsible citizen

·       Describe the Caste System and how it affected the lives of ancient Indians

·       Explain how  the physical environment influenced human activity in India

·       Describe how modern cultural practices of the religions that originated in India show the influence of diffusion and tradition.

The Unit Test for the Christianity Unit will be Tuesday 3/11/14.  To help you prepare, use the following study guide:

• Know Vocabulary words from Lesson 2 and Lesson 3
• Identify significant people from Lesson 2 and Lesson 3
• Be able to identify: Geographic origin, founding leader, and Basic beliefs
• Understand how Romans felt about other religions in their empire
• Compare and Contrast Judaism and Christianity
• Identify factors that cause the movement of people products and ideas and the influence on modern day Christianity or Christians.
